Splendor in the Beach

Recently got back from vacation with my lovely boyfriend, Captain! We had a wonderful time in the Turks & Caicos. Spent five days there with pretty excellent weather. We swam, snorkeled, fished, and relaxed.

While I was gone, the kids went with their dad, Grayheart, around New England for some good ole fashioned fun. (Seeing my kids leave for a plane trip without me was pretty tough. It worked out well that I left 3 days later!)

Anyhow, thought I’d share some pictures of our fun. Hope everyone’s having a great summer. Sending you all some sunshine!
I’m counting down before I get back to work in a week! β˜€οΈπŸŒ΄πŸ’›

    • Thanks, bud! It was a lovely time! Hope you’re good, too! Just having a hard time reconciling summer will be over shortly. Soon we’ll be heading into Fall and talking football, pumpkin and autumn leaves! πŸ˜‰ Not a bad thing of course but ya know…

      • Oh man, tell me about it. My boys went back to school this morning, oldest starting high school. Crazy how fast summer goes by. I have to say, I’m looking forward to football, but not the cold. Speaking of, what do you make of the Dolphins picking up Cutler?!? Ugh. I’m not a fan. I’m glad he’s gone from the Bears. πŸ˜ƒ

        • Your oldest in high school?! Oh my… good luck! There will be interesting times ahead.
Cutler… don’t even get me started. I’m just going to have to deal with the fact that the Dolphins are possibly the worst managed team and are always going to suck. 😩 lol

        • Can’t stand the guy. I knew it wouldn’t go well with him in Chicago. Likely won’t in Miami either. Too bad about Tannehill. He seemed poised for a good year. Y’all have one of my favorite former Cards down there too, Devante Parker. Just wish he had a better QB to get him the ball.

As for my oldest, it’s hard enough doing the high school thing, but it’s complicated by him having autism. But, we’ve already met with all of his teachers and had an ARC meeting yesterday, which went very well, so we’re hopeful it’ll go smoothly. Fingers crossed. πŸ˜ƒ

        • Last season was better so we were hopeful but… well, you know how it goes. Lol! I’m gonna keep an eye on Parker! Maybe there’ll be some sort of synergy between them, if Miami’s really lucky!
Very nice to hear you had your meeting with the school and each of the teachers! I’ve found the transition to high school is typically one of the most intimidating times for parents of special needs children. But then they do great with extra independence and structure. And if I remember correctly, he’s pretty high functioning, right? Will he have a para or a shadow? I think with the way your family operates and what sounds like great cooperation from the school’s side, he will do great! I truly wish him the best.

        • Yeah, he’s high functioning, and yes, he’ll have a resource person with him during most classes, even though he’s in regular classes 90% of his day. He’ll an extra dose of 1-on-1 for math 3 days per week. I think he’ll do fine. I’m more worried than he is, which is a great sign. My wife got a text from the principle a bit ago saying he was doing great today, so that eased my mind.

As for the ‘Phins, it’s just a shame that such a historically great franchise has been downgraded for so many years. I was really hopeful they’d have drafted Teddy Bridgewater a couple years ago, but they can’t seem to find a consistent presence at QB. Maybe Cutler will do so, at least for this year. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. πŸ˜ƒ

  1. Awesome post! I just love TCI. The water is so beautiful. Looks like you had a very relaxing time, mine was filled with adventure. I went horseback riding with Provo Ponies and paddleboarded the mangroves. It was amazing! I would love to go back, are you?

    • Yes, South Caicos was wonderful! Snorkeling, fishing, swimming and just relaxing was plenty for us this time round! I’d love to try horseback riding with their ponies next time we’re in Provo! Thanks for the recommendation! πŸ™‚
